Kulalu Camp lies just 110 kilometres west of the Indian Ocean and the coastal towns of Malindi and Watamu. A leisurely drive of just over an hour along the recently tarmac famous Tsavo road will deliver our guests to the secret splendour of Kulalu Camp, a bush home, resting on the shady banks of the Galana River looking over the Galana Wildlife Conservancy.

Safari Tents

Kulalu Camp is a small and personal family camp. We have five private tents facing the Galana River, for front row seats of the wildlife action on the other side.

Simba (lion in Swahili) is closest to the main mess and dining area, with its double bed and ensuite bathroom. Perfect for families, Simba Toto is situated adjacent to Simba, sharing the same bathroom; a twin tent for the kids.

Next door and Tent 2 is Twiga, which means “giraffe” in Swahili. Twiga is a twin bed tent and with a private ensuite bathroom with shower

Tent no 3 is Baraka (Blessings) and you will be truly blessed in this twin tent with the gentle sound of the river soothing your stresses and strains.

Kanga or Guinea Fowl in Swahili, is the end tent number 4, slightly elevated for panoramic views of the wildlife.

Set a little back from the river between Twiga and Baraka, is Mdinguni (Heaven). With the same great vista, tent no 5 is a little more private with its own hammock to lie in and watch the world go by.

For a bit of rustic luxury we have our new “executive” tent no 6, Milele which means “forever”. Tina’s tent is personally designed by her to include some very special personal touches. Milele is set back and secluded, and also has a view of the river

All tents have a veranda, table and chairs, plus a relaxing daybed for private quiet times. Hot showers are available in the evening at 6pm or on request. Every tents has ensuite bathrooms with shower.
Camp is powered by solar energy.
